Florence – Tuscany’s festival della salute (health festival), the largest in Italy covering 2500 square feet, will be held in Viareggio Sept. 24 – 27. Three hundred and fifty events are scheduled to occur over the four days of the festival, and over 1000 volunteers will help. The festival, which is free and open to the public, aims to provide health awareness and information for people living in Tuscany.
The festival was thought up and organized by GoodLink, in collaboration with the region of Tuscany. The purpose is to increase public health in order to save lives, as well as money, by preventing and diagnosing diseases. There will be 25 screening rooms at the festival, all with free consultations.
Along with disease prevention and diagnosis, the festival hopes to encourage health through physical activity. There will be 90 sports performances, including two walks.
Over the four days, the festival will include debates, student lectures, sports events and shows
